Enrico Dindo
Bio
Enrico Dindo began studying cello at age six, later graduating from Turin’s “G. Verdi” Conservatory and perfecting his studies with Egidio Roveda and Antonio Janigro. From age twenty-two (1997–98) he served as principal cellist of the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra. In 1997 he won the first prize at the Rostropovich Competition in Paris and has since performed as soloist with prestigious orchestras in many countries. Composers such as Giulio Castagnoli, Carlo Boccadoro, and Carlo Galante have dedicated works to him.
Founder and conductor of I Solisti di Pavia,
Dindo directed the HRT Symphony Orchestra of Zagreb (2014–21)
and has been artistic director of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana since 2022.
He teaches at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano and the Pavia Cello Academy.
He plays a Pietro Giacomo Rogeri cello, 1717 (ex Piatti), entrusted to him by the Pro Canale Foundation.
