Katrina Stroud
Bio
Katrina Stroud has been playing violin since the age of three and currently attends the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings with the McDuffie Presidential Scholarship where she is pursing her Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance with electives in Business. Katrina currently studies with Amy Schwartz Moretti, Robert McDuffie, David Kim, along with chamber coaches Annie Fullard and Lawrence Dutton.
Katrina has also worked with world-renown pedagogues and performers such as Paul Kantor, Miriam Fried, Vadim Gluzman, James Ehnes, Donald Weilerstein, Peter Oundjian, Nancy Zhou, among others. Katrina enjoys performing in the Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra and has performed under the baton of Peter Oundjian, Roderick Cox, Peter Bay, Jeff Turner, Robert Spano, and Ward Stare. Katrina is also an avid chamber musician and has worked with members of the Emerson, Cavani, Tokyo, Cleveland, Calidore, Attacca, and Ariel String Quartets to name a few. Katrina won second prize in the St. Paul String Quartet Competition and was a quarter finalist in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in 2023. Katrina also engages in community events where she performs at local churches, high schools, and for nearby assisted living homes. Katrina has spent her summers at Texas Strings Festival, Encore Chamber Music String and Chamber Music Intensive, Center Stage Strings, Aspen Music Festival with Robert Lipsett, and was a fellow student at the Blackburn Music Academy in Napa Valley.
