Massimiliano Favella

Bio

Massimiliano Favella began studying the double bass at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory under the guidance of Maestro Massimo Giorgi. He continued his studies at the Fiesole School of Music with Alberto Bocini, and with Franco Petracchi at the Walter Stauffer Academy. He further refined his skills at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana with Maestro Enrico Fagone, and at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern with Maestro Ruslan Lustyk.

Since 2021, he has held the position of Principal Double Bass with the Mannheimer Philharmoniker, and since 2023, he has collaborated as Assistant Principal Double Bass with the KammerPhilharmonie Graubünden. As of 2024, he also performs as Assistant Principal and Section Double Bass with the Orchestra of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.
