Virgil Moore

Bio

Virgil Moore began violin at age nine and studied with Joseph Nigro and Yevgeniy Dovgalyuk. He was a member of the Lynchburg Symphony Youth Orchestra (LSYO)—winning their 2017 Concerto Competition—and of the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra and James Chamber Players. Virgil has received scholarships from the Congressional Black Caucus and the Gods Morning Foundation, attended the Meadowmount School of Music, and held fellowships at the Amelia Island, Colorado College, and Aspen music festivals. He studies at the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings with Amy Schwartz Moretti, Robert McDuffie, and David Kim.
