Matouš Pěruška

Bio

Matouš Pěruška started playing violin at 5, graduated from Prague Conservatoryas soloist in the Brahms violin concerto, went on to Prague Academy of Performing Arts and then to Vienna to study with the concertmaster of the Vienna Symphony, Jan Pospichal. Besides master classes with the Vienna Philharmonic and world renowned professors, has participated in and won numerous national and international competitions. Recently he became laureate of the Prague Spring violin competition.

As member of several chamber groups performing across Europe he has performed in EuroArt Festival and International Music Festival Kutná Hora. In duo with cellist Kristina Vocetková was awarded Zoltán Kodály prize in summer 2015 and they are holders of two prizes given by Bohuslav Martinů foundation.
