Erica Piccotti
Bio
Nominated “Artist of the Year” by the jury of the International Classical Music Awards 2020, Erica Piccotti had already earned her diploma in cello at age fourteen, made her recording debut for Warner Classics, performed live on Rai for the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, and was awarded the title of “Standard Bearer of the Republic.” From 2015 to 2019 she studied with Antonio Meneses at the Chigiana Academy of Siena, graduating with the Monte dei Paschi Award and the Diploma of Honor.
Prizewinner at numerous national and international competitions, she maintains an intense schedule as a soloist and in chamber ensembles at such venues as Berlin’s Konzerthaus and London’s Wigmore Hall and at renowned festivals including the Verbier Festival Academy, Al Bustan Festival, and Spoleto’s Festival of Two Worlds. She has collaborated with artists such as Salvatore Accardo, Gidon Kremer, Louis Lortie, Antonio Meneses, Massimo Ouarta, Andras Schiff, and Christian Tetzlaff. She plays a P. G. Rogeri cello (Brescia, 1751) generously loaned by the Tarisio Trust.
