Bio
The broadly versatile musical career of American violinist Amy Schwartz Moretti spans nearly two decades. Former concertmaster of the Oregon Symphony and Florida Orchestra, she has been guest concertmaster for the symphony orchestras of Pittsburgh, Atlanta, CityMusic Cleveland, New York, and Hawaii Pops, and festival orchestras of Brevard, Colorado, and Grand Teton. She is also director of the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings, Caroline Paul King Chair in Strings, and professor of violin in the Mercer University Townsend School of Music where she curates the Fabian Concert Series.
Known for her expressive performances as both an orchestral soloist and chamber musician, Moretti is a member of the internationally acclaimed Ehnes Quartet. She has recorded for several prominent labels and received numerous accolades, including an Alumni Achievement Award from the Cleveland Institute of Music and being named one of Musical America’s Top 30 Professionals of the Year in 2018. Moretti plays a treasured Jean Baptiste Vuillaume violin made in Paris in 1874.
