Massimiliano Nese, at only 15 years old, his trombone has already resonated as a soloist and as first trombone in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world such as: Sala Santa Cecilia of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone in Rome, Carnegie Hall in New York, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Palazzo Kammerzowky in St. Petersburg, Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Teatro Apollo in Lecce and Salle des Combins of the Verbier Festival. Winner of numerous international competitions in Padua, Florence, Berlin, London, Birmingham, Vienna. In 2023 he won the scholarship in memory of Giovanbattista Cutolo at the National Arts Award among all Italian conservatories. He began studying at 4 years old with A. Caterina, continued with E. Basilico and is currently a student of M. Costanzi at the Conservatory of Terni. He has attended masterclasses by: Enzo Turriziani, Andrea Conti, Joseph Alessi, Hans Stroecker, Nico Schippers, Hans Alting, Perry Hoogendijk, Charles G. Vernon, Gabriele Malloggi, Jonathan Reith, Giovanni Dominicis. He has been directed by world-famous maestros such as: Sir A. Pappano, Sir Simon Rattle, D. Renzetti, A. Orozco-Estrada, James Gaffigan, Vincenzo Milltarì, M. Martinelli and S. Genuini. He is first trombone of the Juniorchestra Young of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He won the audition at the Concertgebouworkest Young 2023 (Netherlands), at the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra 2024 of the Verbier Festival (Switzerland) for which he has also been invited for the next edition in 2025.
