Robert McDuffie, President and Artistic Director of the Rome Chamber Music Festival, and his staff wish to congratulate Michele dall’Ongaro, professor and composer, on his recent nomination as head of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and its orchestra.   Mr. dall’Ongaro, will service as Santa Cecilia’s new President, Superintendent, and Artistic Director.

For the past several years, the Rome Chamber Music Festival has been privileged to have Michele dall’Ongaro serve on its honorary board and to have distinguished musicians from the Santa Cecillia Orchestra on its stage. The festival is honored to have worked with pianist Elena Matteucci and violist Luca Sanzò, members of the Quartetto Michelangelo and frequent guests of the “Quirinale Series,” founded by dall’Ongaro and broadcasted on Radio Tre. This year, which is the festival’s 12th season, the concert program features three great principals of Santa Cecilia: Alessandro Carbonare, Guglielmo Pellarin, and Francesco Bossone. These outstanding artists will coach some of the festival’s Young Artists Program participants, several of which are members of the Santa Cecilia Juniorchestra.
