Christopher Yick

Bio

Born and raised in Honolulu, a 2016 Iolani School graduate, and currently senior double bassist at the McDuffie Center for Strings, Chris studies with Daniel Tosky and Jeffrey Turner.

Last two summers, Chris has been a fellow at FOOSA, Colorado College Music Festival and Festival Napa Valley: Blackburn Music Academy. He also has performed with the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra. Chris combines artistry and business. As a founder of the Hawaii Chamber Music Festival which has featured over 40 world class artists and engaged with the community through partnerships, outreach, and other collaborative efforts, since May 2019, Chris has been on the creative team for All Nippon Airway’s upcoming Honolulu Music Week – an exciting festival that will feature HCMF and other artists and organizations.
