Chuck Leavell
Bio
One of the most sought after and respected keyboard players in the world, Chuck Leavell has played on many memorable hits like the Allman Brothers Band’s “Rambling Man”, and their classic instrumental “Jessica”, Eric Clapton’s “Unplugged” CD; Train’s “Drops of Jupiter”; The Black Crowe’s “She Talks to Angels” and many more. He plays a prominent part on John Mayer’s “Born and Raised” and “Paradise Valley” releases, as well as David Gilmour’s “Live in Pompeii”. As keyboard player for the Rolling Stones, he has worked with the band since 1982 and is their Musical Director. Leavell is also a solo artist in his own right with five releases to his credit.
Leavell is known equally as a passionate and committed environmentalist with a
commonsense approach.
His documentary, “Chuck Leavell: The Tree Man” is touted as
one of the best rockumentaries ever. He is also the host of the PBS series, “America’s
Forests”. A respected author, he has written four books. He and his wife, Rose Lane Leavell, an accomplished artist, live on their award-winning family forest and hunting preserve, Charlane Woodlands in Middle Georgia.
