Flavio Emilio Scogna is an Italian composer and conductor.
In 1988, he collaborated with Luciano Berio on a transcription of Paul Hindemith’s “Wir bauen eine Stadt,” which was performed that year at the Konzerthaus in Vienna.
Scogna’s compositions have graced prestigious concert halls worldwide, including the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Teatro Comunale di Firenze, Centre Pompidou in Paris, Konzerthaus in Vienna, Auditorium Nacional in Madrid, and Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. His work has also been broadcast by major European radio and television networks such as RAI, BBC, RNE, BRT, and Radio France.
Scogna’s conducting career, which began in 1990, encompasses both traditional and contemporary music and opera.
He has rediscovered significant works by composers like Pergolesi, Boccherini, and Rossini, earning him recognition as a leading conductor.
Scogna has directed renowned international orchestras, including the Kiev Philharmonic Orchestra, Rai Symphonic Orchestra, RTVE Symphony Orchestra, Rome Opera House Orchestra, Hungarian State Symphonic Orchestra, Raanana Sinfonietta of Israel, Icelandic Symphonic Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, Orchestre Symphonique et Lyrique de Nancy, Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano Orchestra, Sicilian Symphonic Orchestra, Filarmonica Toscanini Orchestra, and the National Academy Orchestra of Santa Cecilia. He has also collaborated with acclaimed ensembles such as Alternance in Paris, The Accademia Bizantina, Circulo in Madrid, and the Ensemble Strumentale Scaligero. In 2002, he conducted “La memoria perduta,” commissioned by the Rome Opera House and directed by Pier-Alli.
