Bio

Hannah Kandinsky, born in 1996 in Bremen and raised in Salzburg and Vienna, began studying violin at ten in Arkadii Winokurow’s class for highly gifted students. She entered the preparatory program with Cornelia Löscher at the Joseph Haydn Conservatory in 2013 and continued in 2016 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, completing her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees under Georg Hamann. She has also studied with Antje Weithaas, Vadim Gluzman, Eszter Haffner, Dora Schwarzberg, and Boris Kuschnir.

Hannah debuted with the Joseph Haydn Orchestra in 2015 performing Karl Goldmark’s Violin Concerto and later appeared with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra. She has performed at festivals including Aurora, Piano Prestige, New Age Festival, and the Gustav Mahler Academy. An active orchestral musician, she has worked with conductors such as Christian Thielemann, Lorenzo Viotti, and Kirill Petrenko, and has served as concertmaster for the Esker Festival Orchestra.

As founding member and primaria of the Kandinsky Quartet, she has performed with artists including Asier Polo and Elisabeth Leonskaja. The quartet has won the Verbier Anniversary Prize and Gasteig Competition. Hannah plays a violin by Giuseppe Rocca.
