Bio

Kaden Ho-yan Yim started learning bassoon at age 11 with Miss Angel On-ki Cheung. He started his music study in Hong Kong Baptist University, studying from Mr. Kam Shui, former principal bassoon of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, then in Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA). His study was supported by a few scholarships. Kaden Yim actively participates in orchestral ensembles and chamber music. In 2019, his chamber group was awarded first prize in Thailand International Wind Symphony Competition. His woodwind quintet group performed in Macau 2019 and participated the Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) digital concert hall series in 2021.

Kaden Yim is currently a master student in HKAPA, studying under Mr. Timothy Ting-yuen Chan, principal bassoon of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. He participates in Young Pro Platform of the Orchestra Academy Hong Kong season 2021/2022.
