Bio

Born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, Mariia Kostogryz has been playing violin since she was five years old. She studied at the Kharkiv Special Music School (Lyceum of Music) in the class of Lyudmila Varenina. Kostogryz played with the Kharkiv Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and the Slobozhansky Youth Academic Symphony Orchestra, took part in art projects such as “Night at the Museum” and “Nathnennya,” and from 2015 to 2021 participated in the “Visiting Gogol” Music Festival in Mirgorod. Kostogryz won the 1st Oscar Rieding International Competition, Slovenia, and has participated in the masterclasses of Aleksey Semenenko, Kirill Troussov, Christian Altenburger, and Mihaela Martin. Kostogryz is a member of the Pan-Caucasian Youth Orchestra at the fourth and fifth Tsinandali Festival. In September 2023 Kostogryz played concerts in Florence and Verona with her trio, Interval.
