Sara Scanlon developed her love of music and passion for playing cello at age four. She is a graduate of Juilliard’s pre-school program and is currently a sophomore at the McDuffie Center for Strings, where she studies with Richard Aaron and Julie Albers. From Connecticut, she was winner of the Chappaqua Orchestra, Greater New Haven Concert Orchestra and Hamden Symphony Orchestra concerto competitions. She has been a featured soloist on NPR’s From the Top, and WQXR’s Young Artist Showcase. As soloist she performed for Orford Musique’s Gala du Prix and with the Charleston Symphony. She was given a fellowship to perform in the Finckel-Wu Han Chamber Music Program at the 2017 Aspen Music Festival. Sara toured with the McDuffie Center for Strings faculty for the 2018 Fabian Concert series.
