At age seventeen, Silvia Gira earned her academic diploma at the Palermo Conservatory, summa cum laude. She studied with Antonio Meneses at the Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona and at the Chigiana Academy in Siena, and she graduated from the National Academy of Santa Cecilia with full marks both in cello with Giovanni Sollima and in chamber music. She performs as a soloist and chamber musician at prestigious festivals in Italy and abroad and is a frequent guest on Rai Radio3.
In 2022, with the Parma Trio, she earned the Level II master’s degree in chamber music with full marks at the Parma Conservatory.
