Simona Ruisi
Bio
She graduates in viola with honors from the Conservatory of Music S. Cecilia and she continues her studies with Danusha Waskiewicz. Awarded as a child in national and international competitions, from 2011 to 2014 she is principal viola of Orchestra Giovanile of Rome. She is active in the chamber music activity and a founder member of Duo Amaranta (viola-piano) and LuMiS Trio (clarinet-viola-piano). She participates in masterclasses with Burton, Kugel, Giuranna, Jüdt and at Accademia Chigiana with Kashkashian. She won the auditions as substitute player at Teatro Massimo of Palermo, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Filarmonica del Teatro Comunale of Bologna and Teatro dell’Opera of Rome, with which she performs under the direction of Pappano, Gergiev, Honeck, Eötvös. In 2018 she plays Stamitz viola concerto with “I Musici di Parma” in Salsomaggiore Terme; she receives a special prize as “best viola player” at Premio Crescendo 2019. She is currently attending the Post-graduate at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg in the class of Veronika Hagen.
At the same time since 2016 she has been studying as Mezzo-soprano with Donata Lombardi, obtaining in 2020 a Masters’s Degree in Vocal Studies from the Conservatory of Rome with horonable mention.
