Sofya Yuneeva

Soprano

Sofya was born into an operatic family in Volgograd (Russia). She began studying the piano at about the same age as she made her debut in the Children’s Choir of the Volgograd Opera House. She further pursued her vocal studies at the P.A. Serebryakov Collage of Arts. At nineteen years of age she entered the Santa Cecilia Conservatory (Rome) where she graduated in opera singing after a triennial diploma under the guidance of Giuseppe Sabbatini and Anna Maria Ferrante.
Currently she is specializing in baroque singing with Sara Mingardo.
She has performed in a variety of repertories going from antique and sacred music to contemporary compositions. She has performed at the Short Theater Festival at the MACRO Testaccio in Villa Torlonia, and at Villa Abamelek (the residence of the Russian ambassador) she performed a solo chamber music concert accompanied by the pianist Michele Reali.
