Press release – Rome Chamber Music Festival 2025
Rome Chamber Music Festival 2025 – 22nd Edition
June 16–19 – Auditorium Conciliazione, Rome – Via della Conciliazione, 4
Artistic Director: Robert McDuffie
Four days featuring 43 internationally renowned artists and young talents from around the world, under the guidance of eclectic American violinist Robert McDuffie, founder and artistic director of the Rome Chamber Music Festival, for an intense chamber music marathon celebrating timeless masterpieces.
The performances will range from the works of Pierluigi da Palestrina to Tartini, encompassing sacred Renaissance music and iconic pieces by Brahms, Händel, Mahler, Ravel, Rózsa, and the virtuosic Klezmer stylings of renowned clarinetist David Krakauer.
Among the guests of this 22nd edition are pianist Andrea Lucchesini, composer and conductor Flavio Emilio Scogna, the soloists of the Vox Medicea choir in collaboration with The English Cornett & Sackbut Ensemble, and the bandoneon genius Héctor Ulises Passarella. A celebration of vibrant energy and harmony.
Indeed, the opening night on June 16 bridges sacred and secular, with a double rendition of Giuseppe Tartini’s “The Devil’s Trill,” followed by a tribute to Italian Renaissance sacred music by the Vox Medicea soloists, joined by The English Cornett & Sackbut Ensemble, celebrating 30 years of their career with the Festival in Rome.
On June 17, the second day explores a unique repertoire featuring Ravel and Brahms, with a young ensemble enhanced by two seasoned, acclaimed masters: Andrea Lucchesini on piano and Robert McDuffie on violin.
The third concert, on June 18, opens with the celebrated Passacaglia by Georg Friedrich Händel, followed by Miklós Rózsa, and concludes with a collection of Jewish Klezmer music led by master clarinetist David Krakauer.
The grand finale on June 19 features a chamber arrangement by Flavio Emilio Scogna of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in D major, “Titan,” for 14 instruments, and a surprise encore with Héctor Ulises Passarella.
This Festival truly breaks the routine of typical Italian programming, offering rare repertoire and fresh faces on our stages.
Tickets are available on the Ticketone circuit starting at €20, with discounts and special rates available for young audiences and cultural or musical associations.
