John Neff is a versatile multi-instrumentalist\u2014guitar, pedal steel, lap steel, dobro, and vocals\u2014recognized for his distinctive blend of Southern rock, alt-country, and experimental soundscapes.<\/p>\n\n
Active since the early 1990s, Neff has built a wide-ranging career as both a touring and recording artist. He has contributed guitar and pedal steel to an eclectic roster of musicians, including Drive-By Truckers, Japancakes, Bloodkin, Bettye LaVette, Superchunk, and Kimberly York. His discography also includes work on Booker T. Jones\u2019s Grammy Award\u2013winning album Potato Hole. <\/p>\n\n
During his tenure with Drive-By Truckers, Neff appeared on major television programs such as The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O\u2019Brien, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and Later\u2026 with Jools Holland, bringing his signature sound to a broad national and international audience.<\/p>\n\n
Since 2015, he has been a collaborator on The Mike Mills Concerto for Violin, Rock Band, and Strings, as well as its companion project, A Night of Georgia Music, featuring Chuck Leavell.<\/p>\n\n
