Canadian cellist Kathryn Fakeley began her studies at age six and has since performed across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Africa. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor\u2019s degree at the McDuffie Center for Strings, studying with Hans J\u00f8rgen Jensen and Brannon Cho. <\/p>\n\n
This past year, Fakeley has appeared in a number of chamber series including New Canaan Chamber Music in Connecticut, USCB Chamber Music in South Carolina, and the Fabian Concert Series in Georgia. She has performed at Sarasota Music Festival, Meadowmount School of Music, Colorado Music Festival and this is her second appearance at the Rome Chamber Music Festival. As a soloist, she has played with the Macon-Mercer, Richmond, Calgary Civic, Red Deer, and Burman University symphonies. She is also the founder of the Open Strings Initiative, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to music education.
