Natalia Midek

Bio

Natalia Midek, double bass (861) Natalia Midek, a Polish double bassist based in Basel, studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Dominic Seldis, Tom Goodman, and Graham Mitchell. She then earned her master’s degree in 2022 at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, studying with Roman Patkoló in 2022.

Her academic journey was complemented by a myriad of scholarships. Her internship in 2021 at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival led her to perform with the Gstaad Festival Orchestra. Midek has collaborated with distinguished conductors such as Jaap van Zweden, Edward Gardner, Mark Elder, Marin Alsop, and Semyon Bychkov and performs regularly with the Neues Orchester Basel, Basler Festival Orchester, and Zakhar Bron Festival Orchester.

Midek has also participated in the Davos Festival Academy

and the Werkstatt Kammerorchester Basel, and she performs regularly in diverse chamber groups.
